PM expresses condolence to families of Japan quake victims

KATHMANDU:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday expressed condolence to the people of Japan, especially the families and victims of those affected by the devastating earthquake.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Oli offered deep condolences over the death of people in the devastating earthquakes on April 14 and 16 in Kyushu Island and Kumamoto of Japan respectively.

Oli sent the condolence message to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on Sunday.

"While recalling valuable support and cooperation received from the Government and people of Japan in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake last year," Oli told Abe, "I would like to assure, Your Excellency, that the Nepali people are with the people of Japan at this hour of grief and pain in solidarity of sympathy and support."

At least 42 persons were killed in the quakes.
