61 bandh enforcers held

KATHMANDU: The normal life in the capital city is affected from early morning today due to a general strike called by different political parties opposing the draft constitution.

Likewise, the police arrested at least 61 bandh enforcers from different parts of the capital city this morning.

Superintendent of Nepal Police Bishwaraj Pokharel, also the Spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, said that vice-chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Rajendra Shrestha and other cadres were held.

Similarly, Sub-Inspector Ambar Bahadur Rawal said that eight bandh enforcers were arrested from Balkhu area.

Furthermore, the bandh enforcers vandalised two vehicles in the capital city including one of journalist Rishi Dhamala.

Dhamala told RSS that his vehicle (Ba 5 Cha 4778) was vandalised in front of the Bir Hospital while returning from Nepalbani FM office at around 7:30 am.
