CA voting process to start

KATHMANDU: CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang said the CA would begin the final voting process on the new constitution from Sunday. Five leaders, including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa and Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party Chairman Narayanman Bijukchhe will address the CA meeting on Sunday morning. The CA meeting will then be put off for some time.

At the second meeting the voting process will begin, Nembang said. The CA will settle 54 amendment proposals, which have already been tabled, through voting before voting on all individual articles and parts of the constitution bill. “I am all prepared to begin the voting process. I have made contact with the chief whips of various political parties and the voting process will move ahead on Sunday itself,” Nembang said.
