KATHMANDU: China on Wednesday congratulated President-elect Bidhya Devi Bhandari on her election as the second president of the federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

China’s Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai visited President-elect Bhandari at her residence in Baneshwor and extended congratulations on behalf of the President of China, Xi Jing Ping.

Ambassador Wu wished for her successful tenure, according to Bhandari’s personal secretary Nawaraj Gautam.
