UML wins in two wards of Changunarayan Municipality

BHAKTAPUR: CPN-UML candidates have won in two wards of Changunarayan Municipality. The results came out after counting resumed following a six-day hiatus due to differences among the political parties.

As per the results announced this morning, Budda Lal Maharjan's panel won in ward no 4. Maharjan defeated Gopal Pokharel of Nepali Congress with 1,269 votes against 899 votes.

Likewise, UML's Shyam Sundar Dhimal has won the local election in ward no. 3, .

Meanwhile, UML candidate Som Mishra is leading with 3,714 votes in the counting for the post of Mayor while Nepali Congress candidate Rajaram Khadka is following him with 3,366 votes.

Similarly, NC's Saru Baniya has led the post of deputy Mayor with 3,860 votes followed by UML's Bina Bastola who has so far received 3,824 votes.

Meanwhile, The counting of votes is underway.
