In a message, she hoped that the day would inspire all Nepalis to stand united to achieve sustainable peace, good governance and prosperity. President Bhandari underlined the need to institutionalise the democratic republic system not only as part of ‘our governance system’ but also as ‘our life system’.

She also hailed the successful conduct of the first phase of local level elections and the ongoing process for holding second phase of the polls which she believed would help strengthen and institutionalise the foundation of democracy in the country.
