Discussion on boundaries on

KATHMANDU: The Special Committee formed by the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee on Friday dwelt on some key issues of the constitution, such as secularism, threshold for political parties in the general election and boundaries of the provinces.

Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar told mediapersons outside the meeting venue that they had begun discussion on some key issues, including the boundaries, and would probably reach a conclusion tomorrow.

Gachhadar said leaders needed to figure out where they committed a mistake when delineating boundaries of the federal provinces. “There have been spontaneous protests against the delineation of boundaries by Tharus from Mechi to Mahakali,” he said and added that the leaders needed to identify what the issues were that Madhesis, Janajatis, including Tharus, did not like in the draft constitution.
