Kathmandu temperatures not to plummet for around 4 days

KATHMANDU: Rising Kathmandu temperatures would not plummet for at least four days, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said on Monday.

"No any raining system can be active in next few days," meteorologist Shanti Kandel told THT Online over phone, "Without rain, the temperature can not go down."

Kandel informed that the highest temperature in Kathmandu in this summer was 32.5°C, recorded yesterday afternoon.

Temperature in next few days might cross the Sunday mark, according to the met official.

The hottest April day that Kathmandu witnessed so far was April 26, 1999, when the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.6°C.

Today's highest temperature in Kathmandu as per the current data is 31.4°C, recorded at around 2:45 pm, according to the MFD website.

Average maximum temperature in April in Kathmandu is 28.2°C.

Meanwhile, Dipayal and Biratnagar recorded equal 37°C temperature at the time. Temperature in Pokhara was 32.8°C then.
