Mahara hands over Nepal visit invitation for Chinese President, PM

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Tuesday handed over the letters of invitation that Nepal's President and Prime Minister sent to their Chinese counterparts to visit Nepal to China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

DPM Mahara, who heads Ministry of Finance, is currently on China visit as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's special envoy.

He held a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister earlier today.

"During the meeting the two leaders extensively discussed matters of bilateral cooperation and mutual interests," the Nepali mission said in a statement.

Chinese Minister Wang hosted a luncheon in honour of visiting Nepali leader, also a senior leader of ruling CPN Maoist Centre, after the meeting.

Chinese President Xi Jinping  is expected to visit Nepal in October.
