Make Kathmandu Valley load shedding-free area, PM tells NEA

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to make Kathmandu Valley a load shedding-free area at the earliest.

According to the PM’s Secretariat, PM Dahal directed NEA Managing Director Kul Man Ghising to submit a draft for the same in a meeting at Baluwatar today.

PM Dahal also said that his dream to make the Valley a load shedding-free area was finally coming true.

He assured Ghising that the government would provide necessary help to the NEA in order to expedite the process and asked him to prepare a roadmap for the same.

Ghising also expressed his commitment that the NEA would follow the PM's guidelines.

Similarly, Dahal also asked the NEA Director to create an environment for the speedy completion of bigger projects, initiation of new projects, minimisation of electricity theft and punishment to those failing to pay dues.
