Ministers to donate a month’s salary to rebuild Dharahara

Kathmandu, March 31

Government ministers have decided to donate a month’s salary to the Dharahara Reconstruction fund, according to a statement issued by Binod Bahadur Kunwar, spokesperson of Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had already decided to donate his one month’s salary to the fund.

The combined amount of all 40 ministers’ one month’s salary will be around Rs 2 million, according to Narayan Nepal, accounts officer at OPMCM.

Government secretaries have also decided to provide their three days’ salary to the fund voluntarily, according to Kunwar.

Meanwhile a meeting of all other staffers of the OPMCM today decided to provide their one to three days’ salary to the fund, Kunwar said in the statement.The historic Dharahara collapsed in the April-25 earthquake last year.
