According to a special forecast released by the Meteorological Forecasting Division today, the low pressure area over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal areas is likely to strengthen and move west-north-west leading to the increased risk of heavy rains or showers in the eastern and central regions tonight and central and western region tomorrow.

There is also an increased risk of landslides and river level rise at a few places in the eastern and central regions tonight and central and western region tomorrow, it said. All meteorological stations except Nepalgunj and Dhangadi recorded rainfall today.

Lumle received the highest rain (38mm) followed by Pokhara 37mm and Simara 34.2mm in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, Kathmandu recorded 5.5mm rain in the last 24 hours.
