Kathmandu, July 9

National Forum of Newar Journalist has finalised its action plan that includes providing Newari language training for the people living outside the Valley through radio.

According to NFNJ, such training would also help produce journalists from Newar communities who can write in their mother tongue. The action plan endorsed by its recent central committee meeting has stated that with the use of FM radio stations, the NFNJ would raise various issues of inclusive media.

“The strategic action plan includes establishing the fact that Dharmaditya Dharmacharya was the first journalist who introduced journalism in mother tongue and Satya Narayan Bahadur Shrestha was the founder president of Nepal Federation of Journalist,” said NFNJ Chairman Krishna Maharjan.

The NFNJ has also formed nine departments for the effective implementation of its plans and programmes. The departments include Information and Communication, Training, Women, Coordination of Stakeholders, Moffusil Coordination, Kathmandu Valley Coordination and Monitoring and Evaluation.
