NCP Co-chair Dahal meets Chinese Minister Wang Yajun

Kathmandu, July 30

Visiting Deputy Minister for External Affairs of China Wang Yajun today held a meeting with Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamla Dahal.

During the meeting, two leaders discussed issues related to bilateral relations, China’s cooperation and contribution to Nepal’s economic prosperity, as per Dahal’s secretariat.

On the occasion, Dahal said unification between the erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN-MC had created an atmosphere of optimism among the Nepali people and expressed hope that the Chinese government, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people would continue to extend their support to Nepal.

He also said Nepal had many things to learn from China’s rapid economic growth, and stressed the need to boost connectivity between the two countries. Dahal also reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to One-China Policy. Conveying Chinese President Xi Jinping’s greetings to Dahal, Wang expressed happiness over Nepal’s achievement of political stability following the unification of communist parties.

Expressing commitment that the Chinese government would continue to support Nepal in its endeavours towards development and prosperity, Wang said Nepal had a favourable environment for implementing projects under China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
