NDSA demands jobs for dentists in hospitals

Kathmandu, March 20

Nepal Dental Science Association today demanded that the government create job opportunities for dentists in hospitals.

Organising a press conference here today, Michael Devkota, president, NDSA, said,“ The government permits medical institutions to run dental science courses but does not give dentists job opportunities,” he said, adding that the government should stop permitting colleges to run dental science courses if it cannot create employment opportunities for dentists.

He claimed that people who have undergone short-term courses were given jobs while certified dentists were unemployed.

He also demanded that the government scrap the 14-day WHO training, take action against dental clinics that are in operation without registration and amend the health directives.
