Nepali Congress picks 'coordinators' for parliamentary committees

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress on Thursday picked coordinators for as many as 12 parliamentary committees to play an effective role in the respective panels on behalf of the party.

A Parliamentary Party (PP) Working Committee meeting held this morning assigned 12 lawmakers of the party to play an effective role in their respective committees.

The party has chosen Bharat Kumar Shah for the Public Account Committee, Mohan Baral for the Finance Committee, Nabindra Raj Joshi for the State Affairs Committee, Bal Bahadur KC for the International Relations and Labour Committee, Sudhir Siwakoti for the Agriculture and Water Resources Committee and Jeevan Bahadur Shahi for the Development Committee.

Similarly, the party has picked Ambika Basnet for the Industry, Commerce and Consumers' Welfare Committee, Mohamad Mokhtar Ahamad for the Social Justice and Human Rights Committee, Jeevan Pariyar for the Women, Children, Senior Citizens and Social Welfare Committee, Padma Narayan Chaudhary for the Good Governance and Monitoring Committee, Tarini Dutta Chataut for the Legislation Committee and Man Bahadur Bishwokarma for the Environment Protection Committee.
