Nepali Congress GC: Strong wind affects voting in last minutes, some reps injured

KATHMANDU: At least three Nepali Congress general convention representatives queuing up to cast their votes

were injured after a strong wind dismantled tents and other structures set up at the polling centre in the Rastriya Sabha Griha premises this evening.

As the strong wind affected the voting in the last minutes with around a dozen voters yet to cast their ballot for the Central Working Committee members, the election committee is yet to decide whether to continue the voting process.

Carrying ballot papers in their hands, some representatives were seen running for the cover.

All the representatives, however, had already cast their votes for the posts of president, general secretary and treasure.

The injured have been identified as Ram Dayal Yadav from Siraha, Sabita Rai from Okhaldhunga and Srijana Adhikari from Chitwan.

Yadav has sustained injuries on his feet and back, while Rai on her head. Adhikari's right leg was hurt.
