Nepali woman rescued from Kuwait

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police's Metropolitan Police Crime Division said it recently rescued a Nepali woman, who was stranded in Kuwait, in coordination with the Kuwait-based Nepali Embassy and other organisations.

The 29-years-old woman is a permanent resident of Nawalparasi district. She had left for Kuwait City to work as a domestic worker on February 23, 2014.  She, however, fled her employer's house after she was denied wages, and started working at another place.

The Nepali woman landed in soup after local police found out that she was working for the second employer without valid documents. She was detained for 26 days. After her release, she narrated her story to her brother, who resorted to the MPCD seeking help for her rescue.

The MPCD said she arrived in Kathmandu yesterday.
