Netra Bikram Chand-led Maoists torch taxis in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Cadres of CPN Maoist torched at least two taxis in the Capital on Monday morning after they came to the road despite a strike imposed by the Maoist outfit led by Netra Bikram Chand.

According to traffic police, one taxi each was set on fire at Gongabu and New Baneshwar.

Some private vehicles are seen plying the roads in the Valley, while public ones have remained off the road, police added.

The bandh enforcers have set a truck carrying medicines on fire in Chitwan district.
