New constitution will be delivered on Monday, says Bhandari
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice-Chairperson Bidya Devi Bhandari said that the much-awaited constitution would be promulgated on coming Monday, September 14.
She was speaking at an interaction organised at the Reporters' Club in the Capital on Saturday.
"Be positive," she said, "The new constitution will be delivered by September 14."
The UML leader went on to say that the constitution drafting process would not be halted on any pretext now. The voting process on the final draft and amendment proposals will begin from tomorrow itself, she added.
Accusing the Madhesi leaders of trying to lead the ongoing agitation in Tarai toward a form of communal riot, Bhandari said that the Nepal Army personnel have been deployed for the security of Tarai people.
Hence, the Nepal Army personnel mobilised in Tarai would not be called back, she clarified.
She further claimed that a province incorporating all districts of Tarai region from Jhapa to Kanchanpur could not be carved out at any cost.
