Newly appointed Minister Gurung promises to implement laws to end social evils

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung, said that he will work hard to implement laws, acts and rules made for the welfare of women, children and senior citizens.

While speaking about persisting social evils such as violence against women and child marriage in a programme organised in Dolakha, on Wednesday, the minister said he would prioritise such programmes that would change the society's view towards such social evils.

During the event, organised jointly by the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) office, Bhimeshwar Municipality, the District Coordination Committee and Satdobato Charighyang Village Reform Committee, Gurung directed chiefs of district-based government offices and security agencies to discharge their duties with discipline and responsibility for country's prosperity.
