'Nidhi to prepare for three top-level visits betn Nepal, India'

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae on Wednesday said Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi during his India visit beginning tomorrow would prepare grounds for three top-level visits between Nepal and India.

Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today, Rae said the visit would make preparations for Indian President Pranab Mukherjee's Nepal visit and India visits by Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Nidhi's visit is likely to fix dates for all three visits, according to him.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs is flying to India tomorrow as a special envoy of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

"Top-level visits between Nepal and India are necessary," Rae said with journalists today, "As they strengthen bilateral relations."

Meanwhile, Rae reiterated that India wants see development, peace and political stability in Nepal and it is always ready to extend support for the same.

"If there is instability in a neighbourhood, it results into instability in India and vice versa," he said, "Therefore, it is a mutual interest."

Nepali Congress leader Narayan Khadka, CPN-UML leader Rajan Bhattarai, CPN Maoist Centre's Prabhu Sah and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic's Jitendra Dev had aired their opinions about Nidhi's visit at the function.
