Norvic celebrates 23rd anniversary

Kathmandu, April 16

Norvic International Hospital celebrated its 23rd anniversary amidst a programme in Kathmandu today.

Norvic’s free health services to the needy during the devastating earthquake last year was lauded during the function. The anniversary function was inaugurated by chief guest of the programme Minister for Health Ram Janam Chaudhary.

Speaking further on the occasion, Health Minister Chaudhary reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting Norvic in all possible ways. He felicitated some staffers, who had completed their long service at Norvic.

Minister Chaudhary also honoured outstanding staff, including the best judged head of department, and 24 outstanding medical and non-medical staff on the occasion. He also gave away certificates of appreciation to outstanding employees.

Chairman of the hospital, Basant Kumar Chaudhary shed light on the hospital’s vivid achievements and development plans for the immediate future.

He further added that the hospital would have the latest version of 128 slice CT Scan and 3 Tesla silent MRI (first of its kind in Nepal and 2nd in South Asian region) within a few months.

The hospital chairman also reiterated his commitment to further upgrading its services with cutting edge technology, addition of new modular operating suites, state-of-art-IVF centre, and new building based on the government’s new building code and guidelines. The new building will have added beds to convert the hospital into 200-bed health facility. On the occasion, ‘Norvic Drug Formulary’ book written by Norvic’s pharmacologist, Dr Ajay Chandra was also unveiled jointly by Minister Chaudhary, hospital Chairman Chaudhary and Prof Dr Kumud Kafle.

The drug formulary is published in different levels, such as national level and the institutional level, said Prof Dr Kafle, Head of Department of Nepali Army Hospital.

Dr Kafle appreciated the efforts made by the author and Norvic management in bringing out such an important book first time ever in private hospitals. After the implementation of drug formulary and treatment protocols, it can minimise the adverse effects of drugs and antimicrobial resistivity on the patients.
