PM Dahal submits his resignation before President Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has today tendered his resignation letter to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Soon after his announcement of the resignation in an address to the nation from his Office in Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Dahal reached the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas and tendered his resignation.

The Prime Minister resigned from the post as per the section (a) of the Article 298 (8) of the Constitution to be effective from today itself.

Meanwhile, a press statement issued today from the office of the President states, "Until the new cabinet is formed, the incumbent Prime Minister will continue to lead a caretaker government."

President Bhandari thanked the Prime Minister and other members of Council of Minister for the work executed during their term of office.
