KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has issued directives to materialise plans to double the agricultural yields within five years.

At a discussion on policy and programme for fiscal year 2075/76 and action plan for budget implementation, PM stated, "We need to lay emphasis on production for prosperous Nepal. The plan to double the paddy produce should be materialised".

Stressing the need to put efforts for overall nation-building, he urged every ministry to concentrate their initiatives for effective delivery of works.

PM Oli made this remark after listening to the presentations of 14 ministries on the implementation of the budget for the new fiscal year.

The Prime Minister was quoted as saying, "All sides should devise their efforts to achieve the national goal of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali'. He added, "Resolve the problems seen in course of implementation and engage efforts in making the government plan a success."
