Rotary Club hands over disaster response kits to Nepal Police

KATHMANDU: The Rotary Club Kathmandu on Friday handed over various goods necessary after any disaster to Nepal Police.

The disaster respond kits were handed over to give Nepal Police a leg up to respond to the disasters, according to the Nepal Police Headquarters.

IGP Upendra Kant Aryal received 140 ‘aqua boxes’ from the Rotary District Governor Jaya Shah amid a special function today.

The goods provided under Humanitarian Aid for Disaster Relief Partnership Service Project include water filters, clothes, toys and other materials useful for post-disaster situations.

The goods would contribute to Nepal Police while providing relief service, hoped IGP Aryal.

Meanwhile, Rotary District Governor Shah said the cooperation with Nepal Police had helped in their social service activities and had provided them with opportunities to serve victims in very remote areas.

Both the sides hoped to continue to help each other while providing services to the needy.

Various police officials and representatives from the Rotary Club had attended the programme.
