KATHMANDU: Police said property worth Rs 500,000 was destroyed as an electronic short circuit sparked fire in Hastol, Chhaimale on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The house of local Sanukanchhi Baiju in Hastol, Dakshinkali Municipality-13 had caught fire yesterday.

Police assisted by locals had contained the fire.

Further investigation is underway.
