Strike partially affects life

KATHMANDU: The normal life in the capital city has been partially affected today due to the two-day-long nationwide general strike imposed by the agitating political parties that are disgruntled towards the draft of the new constitution.

More shops have opened in the inner parts of the town and more vehicles can be seen on the roads as compared to yesterday. Some vehicles including microbuses are plying on the road, offering services to the commuters.

Likewise, the presence of the agitating cadres is not visible on the road but a large number of security personnel have been deployed in the major thoroughfares.

Senior Superintendent of Police Narayan Singh Khadka said that untoward incident has not been reported so far in the valley.

Meanwhile, the banda enforcers vandalised a jeep bearing Indian number plate (BR 06 C 3980) at Kalimati in the capital city this morning.

According to the Police Circle, Kalimati, two unidentified persons came in a motorcycle and vandalised the jeep with the Indian number plate.

The police said that search for those involved in the incident is going on.
