Thief injures himself while jumping off window

KATHMANDU: An alleged thief sustained injuries while jumping off the second floor of a house in Dakshinkali on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Police said the 50-year-old Amar Yonjan had jumped off a window of the second floor of house owned by Akkal Bahadur Tamang, in which he had entered with an intention of theft.

There were two other persons with him, according to police.

After Tamang sensed entry of thieves, he had informed family members about them and the trio subsequently jumped off the window, according to police.

The injured Yonjan was handed over to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kirtipur, by locals.

He has been admitted to the Kirtipur Model Hospital and police are further investigating into the case.
