Nine months into the current fiscal, only 20 per cent of the development budget has been spent in Ramechhap.

The district had received Rs 646.22 million for development projects in this fiscal. But the District Development Committee has so far managed to spend only Rs 129.211 million.

The DDC has spent 63 per cent of Rs 416.184 million it received under the heading of current expenditure. The DDC had received a total of Rs 1 billion for the current fiscal.

“The DDC has failed to spend development budget only because projects were halted for months due to the earthquakes and border blockade,” said programme officer Dipak Subedi.
