Chitwan bus fall: 22 bodies recovered, three still missing

CHITWAN: Police recovered one more body from the incident site where a passenger bus that left Gaur, Rautahat for Pokhara, Kaski had plunged into the Trishuli River, at Chandibhanjyang of Chitwan district earlier this morning.

Earlier, 20 bodies were found on the spot and one injured passenger had succumbed to injuries at a hospital.

While four were missing, police found one woman dead in a search at around 1 pm today. Now, the death toll has reached 22.

But, three persons are still missing.

4 missing in Trishuli after Chitwan bus fall

CHITWAN: As many as four passengers are missing since a fatal bus accident in Chitwan district along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section on Friday morning.

Police said they are looking for the missing.

As many as 41 persons including driver, conductor and passengers were on board the bus, according to police. Of them, 21 were confirmed dead and 16 injured, police added.

Meanwhile, one the deceased has been identified as Jokhu Sah, office assistant at the Nepal Water Supply Corporation. Other victims are not identified yet.

Three of the injured, undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences, are said to be critical.
