CHITWAN: A total of 53 more dengue patients were found in a period of six days in Chitwan.

According to Vector Control Supervisor at the Chitwan District Public Health Office, Ram KC, 178 people have been infected with dengue from mid-August.

"Of those infected with the disease, 80 per cent are from the town area of Ratnanagar."

KC added that the disease is yet to be controlled although the DPHO has launched an awareness campaign to destroy mosquito larvae at different areas.

A team from the Kathmandu-based Epidemiology and Disease Control Division had also launched the same campaign to control the disease after it started spreading on the eve of Dashain festival.
