KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) decided to reconstruct two temples — one in Basantpur Durbar Square of Kathmandu and another in Patan Durbar square of Lalitpur.

The executive committee meeting of the NRA took decision to reconstruct Aagamchhen temple in Basantpur and Degu Taleju temple in Patan through local users' committee.

The reconstruction of temples damaged in 2015 earthquake will be executed with the financial support from the government of Japan, Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported.

Local representatives, local residents and the NRA had reached a consensus to carry out the work through local users committee. However, the reconstruction work remained stalled due to differences on whether to carry out the work through bidding or through the committee.

The local users' committee will be formed by the respective metropolis.
