Absence of professors halt studies at Lamjung Campus

LAMJUNG: Academic activities at the Lamjung Campus under the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science of Tribhuvan University have been halted for long thanks to absence of professors.

Some professors of the Campus, who had gone to abroad on study leave, are out of contact for a long time.

The college administration had listed four professors, namely Chudamani Pandey, Arjun Kafle, Umesh Raj Roshiyara and Rajendra Shisodiya in an absent list, for remaining out of contact for past eight years.

According to the Campus administration, the Campus is being run with the help of nine contract-based teachers.

The Campus has 14 positions for professions, while four are absent while nine are on study leave.

Campus Chief Dr Lal Prasad Amgain, however, said many teaching staff have also returned from abroad studies, but they were under-reported.

Aamgain further said the Campus has already informed the Office of the Dean for further action against absent professors.
