ANNISU-R’s national meet in mid-March

All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary, the student wing of CPN-Maoist Centre is organising its 21st national conference from March 16 to 20, 2017.

The conference will elect its president through direct election for the first time, said Narendra Neupane, chairperson, ANNISU-R.

He said that a meeting of ANNISU-R officials held in Kathmandu on November 12, 13 and 14 had decided to elect the president through direct voting.

The conference will elect five vice-presidents through open competition, four from inclusive cluster (girls, indigenous group, Madhesi and Dalit) while two vice-presidents will be nominated, he informed.

He further said that out of 19 secretaries, seven will be elected from seven provinces, six from the inclusive cluster, two from open competition and one from the university and three will be nominated.

“There will be direct voting for the post of treasurer too,” he said
