BAITADI: A middle-aged man died in an unfortunate storm related incident in Achham district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Narpata Saud of Bannigadhi Jayagadh Rural Municipality-3, in the district.

The incident occurred while Saud was heading for home from a nearby field during the storm with intense rainfall yesterday evening, according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niranjan Datta Bhatta at the District Police Office, Achham. He said that Saud was critically injured after the tree branch under which he had stood to take shelter broke off and struck him during the high storm.

Saud died on the way to a hospital for treatment, police said.

His body has been kept at the district hospital for an autopsy, said police.
