Campus padlocked

GAIGHAT: Six different student unions on Tuesday padlocked Triyuga Janata Multiple Campus in Motigada to protest the college management’s decision to hike admission and monthly tuition fees at the Bachelor level.

The student unions padlocked the account section, administration department and office of campus chief.

Free Students’ Union President Gokul Rai said they were forced to padlock the different departments of the college as the management decided to hike the fees unilaterally.

Rai warned of staging a stern protest if the fee hike was not withdrawn immediately.

Free Students’ Union said the campus management had hiked admission and monthly tuition fee by 20 per cent.

Assistant Campus Chief Rabindra Raj Shahi said that they had hiked the fee in consensus with the college management.

Shahi pledged to hold negotiation with the student unions and settle the problem.
