KHOTANG: CPN M led by Netra Bikram Chand has launched a donation drive in Khotang of late.

Citing the need of a fresh campaign to institutionalise the gains achieved so far, the party has dispatched letters to government offices and all VDC offices seeking donation.

“They haven’t fixed any amount in the letter, but are making frequent calls every day,” said a government employee, on condition of anonymity.

“They are threatening us but as there is no provision for giving donation, we are in a quandary as to what to do and how to make them understand,” he added.

The drive started a month after the party pledged to act against corruption, black marketing, and other negative practices rampant in the district. They said a concerted campaign was much needed to strengthen nationalism and republicanism.
