Charge-sheets filed against two teachers accused of graft

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today filed separate charge-sheets against two schoolteachers at the Special Court for submitting bogus academic certificates to join the teaching service.

A corruption charge was filed against  Subarna Shahi (Sen), a primary level teacher of Ganga Primary School, Rolpa, who submitted fake certificate of secondary level acquired from Girls Inter College, Faizabad under Indian Secondary Education Council to join the teaching service.

“The CIAA filed the charge-sheet under Section 12 and 29 (2) of the Corruption Control Act, 1961 and Section 16 (1) of prevailing Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002,” said the the CIAA.

Similarly, a charge-sheet was filed against  Nayan Kumari Shahi, a primary level teacher of Rameshowari Higher Secondary School, Rolpa. She had also submitted fake academic certificate of secondary level acquired from the same college under Indian Secondary Education Council for the purpose of entry into the teaching field, and permanent appointment and promotions.

The CIAA has also sought maximum punishment for her under the Section 12 and 29 (2) of the former Corruption Control Act, 1961 and Section 16 (1) of prevailing Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
