CIAA investigates alleged irregularities in schools

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has started probing alleged irregularities in the education sector in Rautahat.

Responding to complaints, the anti-graft body has deployed a team to probe the alleged irregularities in the district.

A four-member team led by Under Secretary Homnath Subedi of the CIAA Central Regional Office of Hetauda has been in Rautahat from yesterday to investigate.

The team has visiting and collecting necessary documents from the concerned schools that are said to be involved in massive irregularities in relation to the fund for scholarship, construction of physical infrastructure and purchase of textbooks and education materials.

According to Subedi, complaints were filed against a number of schools including Chandrapur-based Janajyoti Higher Secondary School, Bhediyahi-based Shree Secondary School, Manpur-based Bisunpurwa Lower Secondary School, Saraswoti Higher Secondary School of Pipara Bhalohiya and Madhopur Secondary School of Madhopur.

On his part, District Education Officer Hari Wasti pledged full support to the ongoing investigation. “As we are always committed to clearing out the ills in the education sector, we are ever ready to extend our full support to the investigation,” he said.
