KATHMANDU: The proposed Nepal visit of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has been confirmed for November 2-4.

Multiple sources told THT Online that President Mukherjee would arrive in Kathmandu for a three-day state visit upon the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari on November 2.

He would also likely to visit Pokhara, Muktinath and Janakpur, sources added.

The President’s Foreign Affairs Expert, Madan Kumar Bhattarai, told THT Online that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Indian side, has been working on the programmes of the Indian Head of State’s visit.

Mukherjee’s Nepal visit was mooted right after the formation of incumbent collation government in Nepal in August first week.

Subsequently, an understanding regarding Mukherjee's itinerary was reached when Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal went to India for a state visit in mid-September.
