Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav today warned that the country would witness a huge revolution if the newly promulgated constitution was not rewritten.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the party’s District Working Committee in Gaur today, FSFN Chair Yadav said Madhes agitation would not be confined within Madhes and it would extend to the mountains, hills and other Tarai regions.

“We are collecting energy for a decisive protest and we won’t rest until our rights are achieved,” he said.

He argued that the constitution, which was introduced by shadowing the rights of Madhesis, would not be acceptable at any cost.

“People belonging to Madhesi community, who are treated like second class citizens of the country, are ready to sacrifice their lives but not their rights,” he said.

He accused the government of being cruel towards their peaceful demonstration. He also argued that their rights could not be ensured as the leaders of the coalition parties were reluctant.

Vice-chair of Forum Nepal Rajendra Shrestha argued that the new constitution was being imposed in the name of two-third majority. “Hence, this constitution needs to be rewritten, not amended,” he said.
