'House obstruction to continue if bill not withdrawn'

POKHARA: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel on Sunday stated that the party would continue to obstruct the Parliament sessions until the Constitution amendment bill was withdrawn.

Pokharel, speaking at a programme organised by Kaski Chapter of Press Chautari Nepal, claimed the bill to be against the Supreme Court as a case had been filed against the bill and a breach of Article 274 of the Constitution.

He added that the Madhes-based parties too were ready to demonstrate against the ‘unconstitutional’ bill the ruling coalition parties were trying to pass.

Similarly, speaking at the same function, UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai accused the ruling coalition of trying to invite chaos.

Meanwhile, Bhattarai said the country would soon enter into a political crisis if the elections were not held on time.
