KATHMANDU: A man died after the bicycle he was riding on was hit by a pickup van in Shambhunath Municipality-3 of Dhanusha district on Tuesday night, police said.

Police have identified the deceased as Shrilal Chaudhary (40) of Khoksar in Shambunath Municipality-1 of the district.

The incident occurred when the bicycle was hit by the van (Ba 19 Cha 1424) at 10:45 pm yesterday, critically injuring him, according to police.

Chaudhary breathed his last at 12:00 am the same night during the course of treatment at Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the van and search is on for the absconding driver for further investigation, informed Area Police Office, Rajbiraj.
