Dadeldhura DPO tightens security

District Traffic Police Office, Dadeldhura, has beefed up security after increasing incidents of vehicle theft and road accidents in the district.

According to DTPO, checking on the highway along with security was tightened as illegal activities had also increased in the main border areas of the far-west region.

ASI Bhakta Bahadur Thakulla of DTPO said that a joint team of Nepal Police and Traffic Police have been patrolling the district headquarters and its surroundings.

He said immediate action would be taken if anyone drove vehicles under the influence of alcohol and kept passengers beyond the vehicles’ capacity.

Thakulla further added that Rs 70, 000 was collected from drivers who violated traffic rules and two stolen motorcycles were also seized till April 13.

He said action was taken against those drivers who did not have supportive documents, carried passengers beyond the vehicle’s capacity and those riding stolen bicycles, among others.

SP Ramesh Thapa had interacted with transport entrepreneurs of the far-western hilly districts, civil society and mediapersons and asked them to help security personnel minimise theft incidents and road accidents, a week ago.
