Death toll in Trishuli bus fall 25 as three more victims found

KATHMANDU: After three bodies found in the Narayani River were identified as of those missing from the ill-fated bus that plunged into the Trishuli River in Chandibhanjyang on Friday, August 26, the death toll in the accident has reached 25.

As many as 21 bodies were recovered from the accident site, while another person had succumbed to injuries on the same day.

The Yadav duo's bodies were found at Bhagadi while Ram's body was found at Triveni. Trishuli River is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River.

Police said the victims' kin collected the bodies today and took away for their last rites.

According to police, 13 people, who were on board the bus heading to Pokhara from Gaur, were unaccounted for after the accident along the Narayangadh-Muglin road-section.

The casualties included the bus driver also.

Meanwhile, two among the 16 injured have been discharged, while others are undergoing treatment at two medical college hospitals in Bharatpur, according to police.
