Deceased in Kavre accident identified

All the people who had lost their lives in the bus accident in Kavre yesterday have been identified.

At least 27 people were killed and 37 people were critically injured in a bus accident that took place yesterday at around 2:00pm in Kavre.

A bus belonging to Araniko Transport was en route to Ramechhap from Kathmandu when it met with an accident at Khahare of Birta Deurali VDC, Kavre, yesterday.

All the deceased in the accident have been identified as residents of Koshipari area in Kavre. Of the 27 people who lost their lives, 15 were men and 12 were women between the age of 3 to 75.

The deceased have been identified as Alisa Tamang, Sajja Tamang, Sun Maya Tamang, Chhabilal Chaulagain, Nil Kantha Gautam, Binod Gautam, Aaulak Singh Waiba, Maili Tamang, Krishna Hari Pandey, and Keshab Pandey of Madankundari VDC, and Krishna Hari Bardewa, Sita Bardewa, Kun Maya Pariyar, Parsuram Gautam, Govinda Prasad Gautam, Umesh Sapkota, Bishnu Sapkota, Krishna Damai, Sita Giri, Sushila Rajbhakti, and Susma Lama Magar of Deurali VDC.

Likewise, Indra Kumari Lama of Machhepauwa VDC, Ramesh BK and Thuli Kanchhi Sunuwar of Gothapani VDC, Kavre; Lila Nath Gautam of Gunsi Bhadaure, Junkiri Gautam of Lakhanpur VDC, Ramechhap; were killed in the accident.

Police said that Ramesh Gautam of Pokharichauri VDC, Kavre, died on the way to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

District Police Office, Kavre said  all the others were killed on the spot.

Police said that the bodies have been collected and brought to Banepa-based Sheer Memorial Hospital for post-mortem.

DSP Nabin Kumar Rai said that the bodies would be handed over to the respective relatives of the deceased after post-mortem.
