Development model to minimise gap between haves and have-nots: Chairman Dahal

KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that development model has been designed to minimise gap between the haves and have-nots for attaining economic prosperity in the country.

Addressing the 2nd Cooperative Congress held at Soaltee Crown Plaza in the Capital today Dahal said, "In coordination with public, private and cooperative sectors, economic development model has been developed to establish a basis for socialism in the country."

"We have already clarified that the country would move ahead in the path of socialism; we are heading towards socialism," Dahal asserted.

Former PM Dahal lauded the cooperative movement for its role in uniting the nation.

"There is no discrimination in cooperative movement. It finds the path for marginalised and oppressed community towards economic prosperity. That is why it is a movement for uniting people together," Dahal added.

"The more we do to make the cooperative movement strong, the more it will contribute towards strengthening national unity; social justice will be established which in turn will help to build a prosperous and well cultured society," Dahal shared.

Former PM and CPN Maoist Centre Chair Dahal urged the government to provide full support to the cooperative campaign as it will make the country prosperous.
