Dhurmus Suntali to hand over quake-resistant settlement in Giranchaur

MELAMCHI: The model earthquake-resistant human settlement constructed by the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation at Giranchaur of Sindhupalchok district would be handed over to the local Nepal earthquake survivors on Friday.

Artist duo Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire, who earlier constructed 20 integrated houses for earthquake survivors in Pahari VDC of Kavre district, developed the model integrated settlement houses in Giranchaur also.

The disabled-friendly, child-friendly and environment-friendly earthquake-resistant houses were developed adopting the concept of clean city and green city.

It is shared that the model earthquake-resistant buildings were constructed in coordination with the National Reconstruction Authority, Giranchaur Integrated Model Human Settlement and Tourism Promotion Project, Melamchi Municipality and Department of Housing.

An integrated settlement equipped with 65 residential buildings, five children parks and a sports ground are constructed in 30 Ropani land to benefit disadvantaged people of Melamchi Municipality-8.
