Distribute fuel fairly: House panel to govt

The parliamentary Social Justice and Human Rights Committee today directed the government to ensure equitable and justifiable distribution of petroleum products and cooking gas to the people.
The committee led by Sushil Kumar Shrestha has directed the government, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Commerce and Supplies to control the black marketing of essential commodities and their unequal distribution.
The committee has also appealed the government and the agitating political parties, including Tharuhat and Madhesi Front, to resolve the current problem through dialogue.
The meeting of the committee issued the directive keeping in view the difficulties faced by the people due to disruptions at border checkpoints due to the prolonged agitation of Madhes based parties against demarcation of provincial boundaries.
The committee has also directed the government and the home ministry to provide free treatment and compensation to those injured during the protests in the Tarai.
